When I compared it to the standard vivo S50, I noticed the Pro model has a much more powerful chipset and a lighter body. What I like most is the smaller screen size; it allows for one handed use and fits much more easily in your pocket.
vivo released the S50 Pro Mini today, December 19, 2025 in three colors and three storage options. I’m going to review all its specs and performance details with you to see if this compact flagship is truly worth your money.
Design
Colors and Build Quality
You can buy the vivo S50 Pro Mini in three colors: black, white, and purple. But before you buy, you should know that each color has a different thickness and weight.
The first thing you notice is the design of the S50 Pro mini white. It’s built with aerospace-grade aluminum using a CNC unibody process that feels incredibly solid. The back is wrapped in this satin-finish soft-light glass, they use something called satin lithography, which gives it an almost ethereal look that changes with the light.
With dimensions of 150.83 x 71.76mm, it’s perfect for one-handed use. I noticed the black and purple models are 7.99mm thick and weigh 191g, while the white model is only slightly thicker and heavier at 8.10mm and 192g. The glossy bevel on the “floating mirror set” gives it a really premium, polished edge.
The Iconic Camera Bar
Unlike most of today’s phones that stick to those huge circular modules or corner squares, just like what we see on the standard vivo S50, the S50 Pro mini goes for a ‘Camera Bar’ style. It reminds me a lot of the Google Pixel 10 Pro or iPhone Air. One thing I love about this design is that it actually stays steady and doesn’t wobble when placed on a flat surface.
Also, that horizontal bar gives the phone a sense of balance and makes it feel a bit wider. For a mini version that’s naturally quite narrow, this is a clever design move to make the device appear broader and more substantial.
Durability and Security
This phone is built like a mini tank, which is great for peace of mind. With IP68 and IP69, you can totally relax, dust and water aren’t gonna do a thing to it.
For security, the Ultrasonic Fingerprint 2.0 sensor is a lifesaver; it’s basically instant (0.1s) and actually works if your fingers are wet or a bit oily. Honestly, it’s so much better than the cheap optical ones in most phones.

Under the hood, the vivo S50 Pro Mini is rocking the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. This 3nm monster just smashed a score of 3,315,644 on AnTuTu! Paired with the Adreno 829 GPU and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM (plus 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage), you’ll have a hard time finding anything that can actually slow this thing down.
Gaming and Cooling
It stays super stable while you’re gaming. It holds a steady 120 FPS in MOBAs like it’s nothing. That’s mostly thanks to the massive 4005mm² VC liquid cooling and high-performance graphite inside, which keeps the heat away from your hands.

This camera setup isn’t just for show. The 50MP Sony IMX921 main sensor with OIS handles low light like a pro.
But for me, the real star of the vivo S50 Pro Mini’s camera is the 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens; it gives you 3x optical zoom and can technically push all the way to 100x digital. There’s also an 8MP ultrawide if you need to squeeze more into the frame.
Video Recording and Front Camera
If you’re into content creation, you’re gonna love this. You’ll dig the 4K recording on both sides and the Hitchcock-style cinematic modes.

The stereo dual speakers sound great, and the three-mic array does a solid job at noise reduction during your calls.
