I’ve been looking at the Xiaomi 17 Ultra specs and to be honest, the package they’ve put together here is really good. By the end of this review, you’ll probably find yourself adding this phone to your must-buy list.
You’re getting a 6.9-inch screen, a powerful 200MP Leica camera, and a 6800mAh battery. Plus, they have packed a beastly chipset inside this phone to keep everything running smoothly.
When I compared it to the Xiaomi 17, I noticed the Ultra model actually has a smaller battery, it’s bigger and heavier, and has fewer storage options. But, that camera is insane! It’s like having a pro studio in your pocket.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra was released today, December 27, 2025, in four colors and three storage options. I’ll be breaking down every single detail and spec with you to see if this flagship is really worth buying.
Design
Colors and Dimensions
You can buy the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in four colors: black, white, starry green, and purple.
But before you buy, you should know that the star green version weighs 224 grams, which is half a gram heavier than the other three colors. All are built with the same dimensions of 162.9mm x 77.6mm x 8.29mm. It’s also nearly 38g heavier than the Xiaomi 17 Pro.
Durability and Security
This phone is a beast when it comes to durability. With IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, it’s built to handle anything, you can even dunk it in up to 6 meters of water.
For unlocking, it’s got an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the screen that works even if your hands are wet or dirty, along with a really snappy 3D face unlock.
Leica Camera System
This is where the Xiaomi 17 Ultra really comes to life. Co-engineered with Leica, the Summilux Lens setup is a beast, boasting 99.9% light transmittance. It takes better photos than the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.
200MP Zoom Star
The 200MP optical zoom system is the highlight here. Using a 1/1.4″ sensor, it gives you a smooth continuous zoom from 75mm to 100mm (roughly 3.2x to 4.3x). It’s APO-certified and uses a 3G+5P structure for incredible clarity. It even handles 30cm telephoto macros and up to 400mm lossless zoom.
You won’t believe it, but the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica edition comes with a mechanical zoom ring.
Main & Ultra-Wide Sensors
The main sensor is a 50MP Light Hunter 1050L (1-inch equivalent) with an f/1.67 aperture and OIS. For the wider shots, you get a 50MP ultrawide (14mm) that doubles as a 5cm super macro.
Cinematic Video & Front Camera
If you’re a content creator, the triple rear camera offers 8K across all focal lengths, 4K 120fps Dolby Vision, and support for ACES LOG.
The front camera is a high-res 50MP sensor for crystal clear video calls and selfies. It even supports 4K 60fps recording.
