If you’re looking for a well-built mid-range phone with great battery life, the Honor X7c could be a solid choice.
Design

The design of this phone is all plastic. Right now I’ve got the green model in my hands for this review, and its back panel looks like leather. The feeling it gives you when holding it is really cool. The camera module looks like a stovetop, which is something we see a lot in Xiaomi phones.

At the bottom of the plastic frame, you’ll find a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone, a Type-C port, and a speaker. On the right side, there’s the power button and volume rocker. The fingerprint scanner is built right into the power button, they are easy to reach, and I didn’t have any issues with them. At the top of the phone, there’s an IR Blaster and a microphone, and on the left, you can see the SIM card tray.
The front panel features a flat display where the bottom bezel is noticeably thicker than the other three sides, and at the top, the selfie camera sits inside a punch-hole.

You can get the Honor X7c in Moonlight White, Forest Green, and Midnight Black. It’s 8.1mm thick, and its weight varies between 194 and 196g depending on the color you choose.

This phone has an IP64 rating, meaning it’s splash-resistant, which is a nice feature to have in this price range. On top of that, it has a 5-star SGS drop resistance certification, so if it drops from a height of 1.5 meters, it should be totally fine. Of course, you’d better not do that and don’t just throw it on the ground, but you can feel hopeful knowing it has this certification, giving you peace of mind against accidental drops.

As for the design, I can say it’s a durable phone that is relatively shockproof, and considering its screen size and curved edges, it’s pretty comfortable to hold.
Display & Audio

The Honor X7c has a 6.77-inch IPS LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s interesting because it’s not AMOLED, which could be a weak point, but the 120Hz refresh rate is definitely a strong point. The resolution is HD+, and in terms of quality, since it’s an IPS panel, it doesn’t quite have the vibrant colors of AMOLED displays, but it’s still a really high-quality screen. It gets decently bright, and I’d say the display is totally okay.

The speakers on this phone are stereo, and the sound is actually really loud and good.
Battery & Charger

The Honor X7c has a 6000mAh battery that easily lasts two days with medium-to-heavy use. Its battery life is genuinely fantastic, and you can absolutely count on it. Plus, it supports 35W fast charging, which fully charges the phone in about an hour.
Camera

On the back of the Honor X7c, there’s a 108MP sensor. The photos it takes are very contrasty, meaning you’ll see a lot of color saturation that feels a bit exaggerated sometimes, but it gives you relatively decent details for its price bracket.
On the other hand, it has a slight exposure issue which you can overlook, meaning the photos aren’t extremely bright. The dynamic range is good. If you want to shoot in low light environments, you’ll lose some detail and noise creeps into the image, but in proper lighting conditions, you can snap some nice shots. Sometimes the white balance is a bit off, meaning the colors are slightly different from what you see in reality.
When you take portraits with this camera, it softens the face too much, giving it a watercolor effect, so it’s pretty weak when it comes to portrait mode. I can say the photos it takes are somewhat acceptable, but it doesn’t even come close to its rival, the Galaxy A16.
Up front, it has an 8MP selfie sensor that takes surprisingly good selfies. I honestly had much lower expectations for its selfie camera, but the photos it captures are genuinely nice, depending on your lighting conditions, of course.
Performance

The Honor X7c is powered by the Snapdragon 685, which is a 6nm chip. It runs completely smooth in the UI and during everyday use, but you can’t really count on it for heavy gaming. It’s not like it’ll drive you crazy if you play games on it though. If you just let the phone rest for a few minutes after every half hour of gaming so the performance stabilizes again, it’s fine and you can definitely get some light gaming done on it.
