The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is thin but mighty! After seeing the specs of the iPhone Air, I asked myself, what is Samsung’s answer to this flagship? That question was on my mind as I was browsing Samsung’s website, and then I saw an image of the S25 Edge. Seeing the first images of this phone gave me the feeling that Samsung is ready for this challenge.

The first thing I saw was the phrase “Beyond slim” next to a side view of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which really showed off its 5.8mm thinness. At 163g, it’s 55g lighter than the S25 Ultra.

I scrolled down a bit to the Catch the Highlights section. It’s described as having an ultra-sleek and slim design with a 200MP camera and the most powerful processor customized for Galaxy. This really made me feel like Samsung is taking its thin but powerful approach seriously.
The Design: Thin but Mighty

With the phrase, Heavy on features. Light on your fit. which explained that it’s their slimmest S series phone to date, it became clear that Samsung intends to pack a lot of power into a strong, lightweight body.

A little further down, I could see the S25 Edge in three colors: Titanium Ice Blue, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Jet Black. I personally liked the Titanium Ice Blue because it looked unique and attractive at first look.
It also had a comparison tool where I could see the thickness and weight of the S25 Edge compared to the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S23+. This gave me a good sense of its new, slimmer profile.

The section titled “Thin but mighty” also impressed me, with its focus on durability. The use of a titanium frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on both the front and back gives me the impression that this phone is built to be incredibly tough and resistant to wear and impact.

I was also happy to see the IP68 water and dust resistance.
The Camera: 200MP and Zero Bulk

Next, I got to the exciting camera section, which was headlined, “200MP camera. Zero bulk.” My first thought was that Samsung is putting a lot of focus on bringing a high-end camera into a slim body without the typical large camera bump.

The 200MP wide-angle lens sounds incredible, and the fact that it includes a 2x Optical Quality Zoom is a huge plus. The ProVisual Engine is described as improving color and clarity day or night, which gives me the impression that this camera is designed for all conditions.

The phone has a 12MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture, which is good for confident close-ups and video calls.

Like the previous section, there was a tool here to directly compare the Galaxy S25 Edge’s camera with previous models. The website claims the camera delivers “Epic portraits, every single time” by precisely recognizing subjects and capturing natural skin tones. This sounds like a great feature for portrait lovers.
The Audio Eraser looks really cool, a tool for easily removing unwanted background noise from videos. And the Audio Trim feature for creating highlight reels also sounds incredibly useful for content creators.
Performance and Battery: Power in Your Pocket

Then I got to the “Packed with power. Light in your pocket” section. My first impression was that this phone is a beast. The website says it has the “most powerful processor on a Galaxy smartphone,” the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This gives me the feeling that this phone is built for incredible speed and AI performance, with smooth gaming thanks to improved ray tracing.

The battery life section, titled Long-lasting battery you’ll love, gave me a lot of good vibes. With a 3900mAh battery, it appears that Samsung has completely redesigned its internals to maximize battery space, and the promise of “hours of video” in a slim design is impressive.
AI Features

“Made to fit your favorite AI features” confirms that this phone is an AI powerhouse. The most exciting feature, to me, is Gemini Live, which seems like an incredible tool for real-time information and help.
Seamless Action Across Apps also sounds like a huge productivity booster, as it promises to let you get tasks done without switching apps. I also saw the Now Brief with its personalized daily briefings, which looks like a great way to stay on top of your schedule.
Security

The Galaxy S25 Edge uses Knox Vault to encrypt primary data, which gives me confidence in the device’s security. The fact that you have control over where your data is processed, either on-device or in the cloud, is also a great feature to see. It’s clear that Samsung places a strong emphasis on privacy and security.
One UI 8

I finally saw the new One UI 8, which is described as being “built for AI.” The Now Bar sounds like a very convenient tool for quick access to information and controls without unlocking your phone. The new home screen layouts and redesigned widgets also give me the impression that Samsung is focused on a more personalized user experience.
Crisp, Clear, and Smooth Display

You are probably asking yourself, what are the specs of this thin phone’s display? The S25 Edge’s 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display is exceptionally crisp, featuring Quad HD+ resolution (3120 x 1440) and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.
In the Box: As Always, No Charger

As for the box contents, it’s pretty much the usual suspects these days: The box contains the S25 Edge itself, USB data cable, and SIM ejector tool. The main drawback here is that, just like virtually every other top-tier phone now, you’ll have to supply your own wall adapter.
First Look Conclusion

My first impression of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is that it’s Samsung’s big answer to the competition. From the images and text on the website, it seems that Samsung has successfully created a device that balances an incredibly thin and elegant design with powerful hardware and a suite of advanced AI features.
