The Realme 16 Pro+ was announced on Jan 6, 2026 with that 200MP ‘Portrait Master’ camera in three colors and two storage options.

But let’s be real, I’m gonna skip the hype and put it under the microscope to see if it’s actually worth your cash or just all talk. If you’re thinking of buying one, hold your horses and read my review first.
Design
Look and Feel

First off, the Realme 16 Pro+ looks super unique, mostly because they teamed up with Naoto Fukasawa again.

The back is made of this eco-friendly bio-silicone that feels really soft to the touch. It’s great for the planet, but honestly, I’m curious to see how it holds up after a year of sweat and dirt.

It’s pretty slim at about 8mm, but you definitely feel the 200g weight. It feels a bit hefty in the hand.
Colors and Durability

You can buy the Realme 16 Pro+ in three colors: Master Gold, Master Grey, and Camellia Pink.
Just a heads-up before you buy: the thickness and weight vary a bit between them. The Master Gold and Master Grey editions are slightly thicker and heavier at 8.5mm and 203g, while the Camellia Pink version is a bit slimmer and lighter at 8.1mm and 198g.

The build quality is seriously tough. It’s got an IP69K rating, which means it can actually handle high-pressure hot water sprays. Honestly, that’s probably overkill for most of us, but it’s definitely a nice peace-of-mind feature to have.
Camera
Detail and Portraits

Realme‘s been hyping up that 200MP LumaColor sensor like crazy. To put it simply: the main Samsung HP5 sensor is massive and captures great detail, but don’t expect it to replace a pro camera just yet.

For me, the real star of the show is the 3.5x telephoto lens. It’s killer for portraits because it creates a natural bokeh that doesn’t look like a cheap, fake software blur.
Zoom and Selfies

It can zoom in up to 120x, but let’s be real, anything over 10x is just a blurry watercolor painting. They’ve added a bunch of AI lighting and ‘Vibe’ modes, like LightMe, to touch up your shots automatically. And yeah, it shoots in 4K 60fps on both the front and back cameras.

A 50MP front camera that sounds impressive, until you realize there’s no autofocus. That’s a bit of a letdown for a ‘Pro’ model, if you ask me.
Performance
Chipset and Speed

Under the hood, the Realme 16 Pro+ packs the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. It’s not a flagship 8-series chip, but with an AnTuTu score of 1.4 million, it’s a beast for daily use. It’s got super-speedy LPDDR5X RAM, so apps should snap open instantly.
They’re hyping up the GT Boost for 120fps gaming, which sounds awesome, just keep in mind it’s still a mid-range GPU, it might run a bit hot during long gaming marathons.
Storage Reality

One thing that really bugs me is the storage. You’re stuck between 128GB or 256GB since there’s no storage card slot. You’d better choose the right capacity from the start, because there’s no way to upgrade it later.
Battery
Capacity and Endurance

Hands down, one of the best things about the Realme 16 Pro+ is the battery. 7000mAh is massive, especially when most flagship phones struggle to even reach 6000. You’ll easily get a day of normal use without breaking a sweat.
Charging Speed
While 80W is definitely speedy, topping up such a massive battery still takes its sweet time. The real win here is the bypass charging. It lets you game while plugged in without frying the battery, as the power goes straight to the hardware. They’re even promising 6 years of battery health, which is a bold claim, to say the least.
Display and Audio
Screen Specs

The Realme 16 Pro+’s screen is a buttery smooth 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED. They market a crazy 6500 nits peak brightness, but let’s be real, that’s only for tiny spots in HDR content. In everyday use, you’re looking at 600 to 1800 nits, which is still plenty for direct sunlight. Plus, the curved glass and those invisible bezels (94% screen-to-body!) give it such a high-end vibe.
Speakers and Sound

This phone has a 300% volume mode. It gets super loud, but like most small phone speakers, it starts to sound a bit tinny and sharp at that level. It’s fine for a short clip, but if you want to enjoy music, you’re still gonna want your headphones.
Connectivity and Ports

The Realme 16 Pro+ nails all the basics with 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. It’s also dual-SIM, just like you’d expect.
But yeah, no eSIM support here, which feels a bit behind the times for 2026. There’s no headphone jack either, so you’re stuck with dongles or Bluetooth. On the bright side, the USB Type-C port supports OTG, so if you run out of space, you can just plug in a flash drive.
Software and Features
OS and Updates

The Realme 16 Pro+ runs on Realme UI 7.0 on top of Android 16, and they are promising 3 years of major OS updates. They’ve also hyped up something called Flux Engine, which is basically just a fancy name for a system that keeps animations smooth and handles battery life.
AI and Security

AI is everywhere in this phone, from transcribing meetings to using Google Gemini Live to chat with AI through the camera. It’s definitely cool tech, but honestly, some features feel a bit gimmicky and not that useful. Also, the fingerprint sensor is an optical one under the display; it’s reliable and does the job, but it’s nothing groundbreaking.
What’s in the Box?

Once you finally get your hands on the box, you’ll have everything you need to get started right away. You get the Realme 16 Pro+, charger and USB cable, SIM ejector tool, and even a protective case. It’s a complete package, so you won’t have to head out just to buy a separate charger.
