Blue
I was expecting those same chunky, classic Poco phones with those giant black camera modules. But the Poco X8 Pro Max is a whole different world!
The color Poco chose for the X8 Pro Max is actually a very, very light ice blue or pastel blue. To be honest, it’s really appealing at first glance. It gives you the vibe of a minimal and classy phone. They’ve even made that usual huge Poco logo small and compact this time, which is great. It gives the phone a much more mature look.
Then there are those two big, round camera lenses! Against this light background, these two black circles create a very sharp contrast. It’s like two big owl eyes are staring at you. This design is the kind that has no middle ground; you either really like this contrast and simplicity, or you feel it’s way too bare and empty.
If you’re looking for a cool, stylish color that’s different from the usual gaming phone vibe, this blue Poco X8 Pro Max is perfect.
White
White is always the safest and most classic choice, but Poco made a clever move with this X8 Pro Max White. First of all, those two massive black lenses on the completely white background create the highest possible contrast. It looks like a panda’s face.
But the most fascinating part, which you won’t notice until you see it up close, is the vertical lines and grooves carved into the right side of the back panel. This striped texture not only adds a really cool twist to the simple white color, but it also creates a nice grip so the phone doesn’t slip out of your hand.
I’d say the white version is far from boring and feels very unique thanks to that striped texture on the right. If you like the black and white combo (the panda theme), this color is a timeless and highly classy choice that’ll never go out of style.
Black
To me, the Poco X8 Pro Max Black has the most logical and seamless design. Why? Remember when I said the blue and white versions have those two massive, round camera lenses staring at you like an owl or a panda bear? Well, that’s not the case here anymore. On this black model, those giant lenses perfectly blend into the phone’s dark background and camouflage themselves. That weird contrast isn’t an eyesore anymore. The whole phone looks sleek, dark, serious, and classy.
But let’s look at the other side of the coin that might really get on your nerves. The black color is officially a fingerprint and smudge nightmare. I mean, if your hands are just a little sweaty or you touch the phone after eating a snack… it’s a disaster! All your fingerprints stay on it, and they’re super visible under the light. Unlike the white version that hid the marks, this one proudly shows off every single smudge and grease stain.
There’s another annoying issue too: lint and dust. That white pocket lint that usually gathers around the camera lenses totally screams at you on this black background, and every time you pull the phone out of your pocket, you’ll feel like you need to give it a quick wipe to clean it off.
