The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold in one color and two memory configurations was released on December 12, 2025. Now I want to review all its specifications and performance with you to see if it’s worth buying.
Design
Dimensions and Portability

The first thing you notice is the engineering magic. When the Galaxy Z TriFold is closed, it’s remarkably thin and manageable; it clocks in at 159.2 x 75.0 x 12.9mm. But the real shocker is when you unfold it. It blossoms into a massive 159.2 x 214.1mm display, feeling impossibly sleek at just 3.9mm where it’s thinnest. At 309g, it’s a featherweight considering the screen real estate you gain. It just feels… right in both states.

The Z TriFold is not the thinnest triple-folding phone yet, and when open, it’s 0.3mm thicker than the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate.

The Crafted Black is the only color for the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. Unlike most flagships, this phone comes in just one color.
Materials

They really went all in on making this thing last. The hinges are the stars of the show; they’re protected by a tough Titanium Hinge Housing and use the Armor FlexHinge with a revolutionary spiral mechanism that keeps the profile slim yet strong.

The frame itself is reinforced with Advanced Armor Aluminum, which has held up beautifully. Plus, they topped the cover screen with the incredibly resilient Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, and the IP48 rating gives me peace of mind against spills and dust.
Camera
Rear Camera System

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold camera system is simply a beast. Your everyday shots are handled by a monstrous 200MP wide-angle camera. It’s not just about the megapixels, though; features like Quad Pixel AF and OIS mean you get tack-sharp images even when you are being a bit shaky. Honestly, the built-in ProVisual Engine is the secret sauce, it subtly refines colors and textures so your photos look instantly professional without you having to fiddle with them.
You can rely on the 12MP ultra-wide camera for those sprawling landscape shots and the 10MP telephoto camera for quick 3x optical zoom shots when you can’t get closer. And if you absolutely have to punch in, 30x digital zoom is there in a pinch.
Cinematic Capabilities

If you’re into video, this thing is ready. You can shoot up to UHD 8K at 30fps, which is frankly overkill, but awesome to have. More practically, the slow-motion options at 240fps and 120fps (even in UHD) let you capture some seriously smooth action clips.
Front Cameras and AI-Enhanced Photography

Having a 10MP selfie camera on both the cover and main screens is great for flexibility. But the best part? The two screens transform into an immersive studio. You can literally edit photos on one side and instantly compare them to the original on the other. And for those awkward shots? Generative Edit is magic for moving people around or erasing that random photobomber; it’s like having Photoshop built right into the gallery.
Performance
Chipset and Processing

The secret to the Galaxy Z TriFold’s lightning-fast response is the custom Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. This octa-core monster is built on a leading 3 nm CPU process; that’s industry-leading efficiency and power. Thanks to the optimized CPU, GPU (Adreno 830), and NPU, lag is essentially non-existent. Multitasking and running all those AI features feel instant and fluid.
Memory and Storage

If you go for the 1TB storage paired with 16GB RAM, you won’t look back. That huge 16GB of RAM is fantastic; you can keep dozens of apps open without any annoying restarts or slowdowns. If you’re a power user, knowing you have that headroom is priceless. The 512GB+16GB option is also plenty for most people.
Just remember: you can’t expand the storage with a microSD card, so choose your configuration wisely.
Battery
Capacity and Efficiency

You might be worried about powering such a massive display on the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, but the 5600mAh three-cell battery is a relief. They optimized it with mDNIe technology, so it’s super power-efficient. In real-world use, this means you can comfortably get through a whole workday, or manage up to 17 hours of non-stop video playback on a trip.
Charging Speed
The anxiety of a dead battery is minimized with the 45W wired fast charging. It’s fast enough to get you up to 50 percent charge in about half an hour. It also handles 15W wireless charging and the usual 4.5W reverse wireless charging for topping up your earbuds.
Display and Audio
Main Foldable Display

The display is the main reason you buy the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s Samsung’s largest phone screen ever, a stunning 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a QXGA+ resolution of 2160 x 1584. It supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate and delivers a peak brightness of 1600 nits.
Cover Display

The cover display isn’t an afterthought. At 6.5 inches with FHD+ resolution (2550 x 1080), it’s bright (a blistering 2600 nits peak) and silky smooth at 120Hz. Whether folded or unfolded, the visuals are incredible. They’ve also done a fantastic job minimizing the screen creasing; it’s barely noticeable.
Sound That Fills the Space
Watching movies or listening to music is great with the integrated stereo support. It provides rich, clear audio that really complements the cinematic screen.
Connectivity and Security
Network and Wireless
The Galaxy Z TriFold is set for the future. You get blazing speeds thanks to 5G support and the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard, huge for downloading large files. Bluetooth 5.4 is also included for seamless peripheral connections.
SIM and Ports

You’ll appreciate the flexibility of running two physical lines with two Nano SIM cards plus the extra versatility of Multi eSIM. Everything runs through the USB Type-C port.
Simple, Reliable Access
Accessing the phone is quick and secure via the trusty side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Software and Features
Operating System and UI

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold runs on One UI 8 over Android 16, and the experience is perfectly tailored for the multi-screen format. It feels like this software was made for a trifold.
Next-Level Multitasking

The 10-inch screen truly turns into a proper workspace. You can finally run triple multitasking; it’s a massive productivity gain. Being able to drag and drop content between three simultaneously running apps is a genuine game-changer for your workflow. You’ll feel so much more organized.
AI That Actually Helps

The built-in Galaxy AI features are incredibly useful:
- Gemini Live: This is wild. You can literally press a button and have a real-time conversation with Google Gemini about whatever is displayed on your screen.
- Google AI Pro Trial: Getting a 6-month trial which includes the new video generation powered by Veo³ is a huge perk, plus 2 TB of secure cloud storage.
- Writing Assist: Organizing your research is now effortless. You can drag and drop massive chunks of text from websites right into Notes, and it organizes and summarizes them for you.
- Transcript Assist: This is a lifesaver for meetings. It transcribes recordings, organizes them into coherent notes, and even suggests reminders and schedules based on the conversation.
In the Box: What You Get

They finally listened. In the box, you get the Galaxy Z TriFold, the data cable, and 45W power adapter! It’s the first time they’ve included the fast charger with a foldable, which is a massive win. They also throw in a carbon shield case and an anti-reflecting film to get you started.
